I love Ribena. Who doesn't? What is it about that drink that makes it so easy to drink?
For those of you who've never heard of the drink, it's a blackcurrant flavoured cordial drink produced by GlaxoSmithKline. More of that on Wiki.
Anyways, I've always had it with plain, still water. Never known any different. Until one day, while at an Asian Barbeque, our hosts made a tub of Ribena, as there were kids to consider, and added some carbonated mineral water to the mixture. Suddenly the texture of the drink changed! It became so refreshing to drink! Barbeques in humid weather is often than not needing some form of refreshing drink, besides ice cold beers.
Thanks to her, I now make mine with San Benedetto sparkling mineral water and still water. Bottoms up!
